Slomin's uses landline and cellular / GSM monitoring. Cell based monitoring is the optimal solution if your home has strong cellular reception and service. For more information on the various types of monitoring available click here.
Slomin's LANDLINE monitoring is $30.95 per month, based on a 60 month contract. This cost is high when considering the lock in time of 5 years, among the longest in the industry.
The cellular/GSM version of monitoring has an additional cost of $9.95 a month. Their service is $39.90, and a $199.95 installation cost for the cellular device.
As you can guess, the 5 year long contract length leads to number angry consumers. This ranges from customers who just regret signing such a long term deal, to customers who move to an area not supported by Slomin's monitoring stations.
The sales process is very difficult with Slomin's, they insist on having the salesperson visit your house before they provide pricing information for you.
There is variation between Slomin's locations, and not all are listed, ratings vary from B to A+.
Slomin's reviewers have lots of complaints when it comes to moving, and for maintenance outside of the warranty. You are locking in to a 5 year contract, so be clear with the salesperson, the contract needs to reflect your living and work situation or you will be stuck with a long term contract.
